RAD ballet classes in Croydon
Inspiring excellence, confidence and progression. Ages 4 years to adult.

Our Main School gives children from age 4 a clear, supportive pathway in ballet. We follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, which takes pupils from Pre-Primary through to the vocational grades.
Whether your child dances for enjoyment, confidence or with hopes of vocational training, every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential, at their own pace.
Why RAD ballet
- A strong focus on posture, alignment, strength and artistry
- A solid technical foundation for every other dance style
- Discipline, musicality and grace
Exams: optional but encouraged
Ballet exams help pupils build confidence and resilience, develop discipline and focus, work towards achievable goals and gain internationally recognised qualifications.
Pupils are entered when their teacher feels they have reached the required standard, and grade exam pupils attend a compulsory class in the term before their exam.
Pointe and additional training
Older dancers can take our Pointe class (ages 15+) on Thursday evenings. Alongside syllabus classes, pupils can also access additional training designed to support safe and effective physical development, building the resilience needed for exams and performance.

What our dancers and families say
“My daughter has been at MK dance for a few months now and she loves it. The teacher, Kathryn is absolutely fantastic - she makes the class fun but also teaches them the basics of ballet and tap so well. My daughter is 4 and in the youngest class and I can see her getting better week on week. Couldn't recommend it enough!”
ParentParent of a 4 year old, via Facebook post “This dance studio is amazing with great adult classes in tap and ballet. These classes are great fun and extreamly supportive. All abilities welcome. I love dancing through MK Dance, I have made some great friends and enjoy dancing through the encouragement and support from the teachers. extreamly friendly, welcoming environment.”
KyAdult pupil, via Facebook recommendation “Attending MK dance is a great way to build confidence and meet new people. New to dance as an adult can be daunting, but dancing through MK takes this away, they welcome dancers of all ages, experienced and non experienced. I have learnt the art of ballet and tap and love ever minute of it! The teachers are amazing, very welcoming and friendly and draw out the talent in every dancer in the class.”
