Terms and conditions

By enrolling with MK Dance, you confirm that you accept these terms.

Last updated: 4 October 2026

Fees and payment

  1. Fees are based on a 39-week school year and are charged monthly in advance, no later than the first Monday of the month. If a pupil attends class without the fee having been paid, and there is no prior written agreement with MK Dance, they will not be able to take part.
  2. Direct Debit through GoCardless is our main payment method and is collected on the 1st of each month unless otherwise agreed. Other payment methods may be agreed with MK Dance; payment details are given on your invoice. Please always quote your invoice number and the pupil’s name.
  3. Invoices and remittance notices are issued around the 20th of each month. Receipts are provided on request.
  4. A written reminder for fees not paid after the second class of the month will incur a £5 administration charge.
  5. Fees are subject to change, and we will tell you in advance of any increase.
  6. Your child’s place must be confirmed by the deadline stated on the invoice.

Leaving or changing classes

  1. One month’s (4 weeks’) written notice to the Principal is needed for any pupil wishing to stop a class or leave the school. If the required notice is not received, the full fees for the following term will be due.
  2. Refunds are not given for unused classes unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Registration

  1. All pupils must be registered for the classes they attend. Unregistered children cannot take part.
  2. Please tell us in writing about any change to contact details.
  3. Pupils must ask permission before taking part in external vocational classes, amateur or professional productions, festivals or competitions.

Uniform and appearance

Pupils should wear the correct uniform, shown on our uniform page. Hair should be in a ballet bun from Grade 4 upwards, and no jewellery should be worn in class.

Exams

  1. MK Dance works towards RAD and ISTD exams. Pupils are entered only when their teacher decides they have reached the required standard, and MK Dance may withdraw a pupil from an exam at any stage.
  2. Pupils taking grade exams must attend a compulsory class in the term before the exam. We will tell you when.
  3. Exam fees must be paid by the deadline on the entry form. Late payment incurs a £5 charge, provided the RAD or ISTD will accept a late entry.

Safety and welfare

  1. Please bring and collect your child promptly, and tell us about any change to drop-off or pick-up arrangements, and about any medical needs.
  2. Pupils will not be allowed to leave the dance area until they are collected, unless a parent or guardian has given permission for them to leave unsupervised.
  3. Please make sure your child goes to the toilet before class. Pupils may bring a bottle of water into the studio.
  4. Teachers may sometimes use physical contact to help improve a pupil’s posture or assist with movement. This includes contact between pupils, such as holding hands.
  5. MK Dance does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to property left on the premises.

Watch week, photos and video

  1. Parents and guardians are invited to watch classes during watch week, which is generally held at the end of each term. MK Dance may cancel watch week. Filming and photography are only allowed with permission, at the teacher’s discretion.
  2. From time to time we use photos and video of classes and shows on our website, social media and promotional material. Please tell us if photography of your child is not permitted.

Premises and conduct

  1. Please respect our venues as learning environments and wait only in communal areas. Put rubbish in the bins, only eat food that won’t spill or make a mess, look after any toys provided by the venue, and clean, dry and replace any kitchen items you use.
  2. Pupils may be asked to leave for any serious breach of these terms or for serious misconduct.
  3. MK Dance does not discriminate on the basis of background, race, religion or any other characteristic, monitors its teaching policies, and follows health and safety procedures so that each child dances in a class suited to their level of development.
