Meet the team

All of our ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre classes are taught by highly qualified and professional teachers, all of whom are DBS checked. We aim to provide a safe and fun place for children and adults to learn, building confidence and a love of dance while preparing for exams and performances.

    Kathryn Billings

    Founder and Principal

    With a lifelong passion for dance and education, Kathryn brings extensive experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to every class. She started ballet at the age of three and chose the Royal Academy of Dance teaching degree so that she could keep dancing.

    She holds a BA (Hons) in the Art and Teaching of Ballet from the Royal Academy of Dance, and is a Licentiate (LRAD) and Registered Teacher with both the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).

    Alongside teaching at MK Dance, Kathryn mentors trainee dance teachers and works with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), which shapes the school's inclusive, nurturing approach.

    Committed to continual professional development, she regularly attends industry training, including courses with the Royal Ballet School, and holds qualifications in Progressing Ballet Technique, Acrobatic Arts and Pilates. In 2025 she was shortlisted for Independent Educator of the Year at the UK Independent Education Awards.

  • Anna Austin

    Ballet and Silver Swans

    Anna is a qualified ballet teacher who completed her training with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), achieving the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies and gaining RAD Registered Teacher Status (RTS). She is also a licensed Silver Swans® teacher.

    Anna began dancing at the age of three, completing RAD examinations throughout her training, and has been part of the MK Dance family since the very beginning. After returning from university, she completed her teacher training placement at MK Dance under Kathryn's mentorship before joining the teaching team.

    Passionate about working with both children and adults, Anna creates a fun, friendly and supportive environment where students of all ages can build confidence, develop their skills and experience the joy of dance.

  • Chloe Spencer, ballet teacher

    Chloe Spencer

    Ballet

    Chloe's passion for ballet began at the age of three and has grown into a lifelong love of dance. She is ISTD trained in Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern to advanced levels and has performed with English Youth Ballet in Coppélia and Giselle, en pointe.

    Her performance experience also includes folk and rock music videos, a feature film, and the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.

    Chloe is passionate about inspiring both children and adults through dance. She is committed to making dance accessible and inclusive for everyone, delivering community dance projects that welcome people of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

  • Liv Dee Nordwind, tap, modern and MK Associates teacher

    Liv Dee Nordwind

    Tap, Modern and MK Associates

    Liv is a graduate of Laine Theatre Arts, holding a Level 6 Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre. She has taught at Stagecoach, Langley Dance and Theatre Arts Academy, and Louise Benson School of Dance, and enjoys creating choreography that helps young dancers grow in confidence and creativity.

    As a performer, Liv has received regional and national awards, including CYD Dancer of the Year 2019 and the Outstanding Technique Award at the Janet Cram Awards.

    Trained in ballet, jazz, musical theatre, commercial, contemporary, tap, singing and acting, she has also performed in professional pantomimes and productions at Epsom Playhouse.

  • Zoe Quinney, tap and modern teacher

    Zoe Quinney

    Tap and Modern

    Zoe is a fully qualified ISTD dance teacher in ballet, tap and modern, with a 100% examination pass rate. Having first taught at MK Dance in 2017, she is delighted to be back teaching tap and modern on Saturdays.

    She has played principal roles in amateur productions of Big Fish and Into the Woods, and choreographed the musical Fame for a cast of 40 performers, taught in just 24 hours before it was performed.

  • Abi Walter, tap, modern and musical theatre teacher

    Abi Walter

    Tap, Modern and Musical Theatre

    Abi has been dancing since the age of two. After training at Laine Theatre Arts and Bird College, she graduated in 2023 with a First-Class degree in Musical Theatre and Dance. She also holds DDE teaching qualifications in ISTD Modern and Tap.

    Alongside teaching, Abi has built a professional performing career, appearing in international tours, new musical workshops, pantomimes, music videos and voiceover productions. She has also created award-winning choreography for All England Dance and the Dance World Cup.

  • Poppy Billings

    Teaching Assistant

    Poppy has been dancing from a young age and is working towards Grade 6 in RAD Ballet and ISTD Tap and Modern at MK Dance, alongside continuing her dance education at college.

    She assists our teachers on Saturdays, helping classes run smoothly and encouraging our students along the way, and has choreographed routines for competitions and MK Dance shows.
